Conductor

Managing irritation is a chore. For example, just discovering that if you rest enough, recharge enough, and engage in self-care activities, you should coast through Monday on that fuel. That is not exactly true. Instead, frustration followed shortly after the first text message of the day arrived. There is a lesson in this. Instead of expecting to extinguish the assumptions of others, the judgment and angry emotions generated by the mind decide to be the conductor. When the intrusive thoughts arise, begin to redirect them in another direction. It may help or may not. But faced with feeling irritation and frustration all day, take advantage of the choices you have to guide your thoughts.
