Choices

Choices are available to me on a daily basis. For example, when I’m angry, I have options. I can dwell on the situation, keep thinking about it repeatedly, or I can channel that energy differently—by grabbing a snack, making a coffee, or journaling. None of these actions will change the situation itself. The event that made me angry has already happened, and it’s over.

One essential thing to remember is that actions have consequences—positive or negative—so it’s important to approach options with wisdom and discernment, even when emotions run high. Ultimately, I realize that the power to make a positive choice is mine.

The next time you feel a strong emotion, pause and ask yourself: What positive choice can I make right now to honor my well-being? Try it, and notice the impact of choosing intentionally
