Fresh start
Today is my first day back at work after a two-week break. I’m incredibly thankful for the time off—it gave me the opportunity to recharge, rest, and reflect. During this time, I learned an important lesson, and I’ve decided to take action.
The lesson I learned is that dreading going back to work often starts as a fleeting emotion, but it can quickly grow into thoughts that amplify feelings of dread and fear. However, I realized that I have the power to choose how I frame this experience.
Dreading going back to work is one option, but it’s not the only one. I can also choose to say, “I get to return to helping people.” I can choose to think, “I get to be around colleagues I enjoy.” These are equally valid perspectives, and recognizing them as options has been empowering.
Shifting my mindset takes effort, but I know the effort is worth it. It’s a reminder that our actions and attitudes shape how we experience life, and we have the ability to choose positivity and gratitude, even in moments of discomfort or transition.
Reflection Question:
What mindset shift could you make today to transform a challenging situation into an opportunity for growth or gratitude?
