Reflection

Do you question the decisions you have made in the past? It is easy to meditate on them and conclude that you made poor choices. Perhaps this is true in some cases. We all have made decisions that we have regretted. But I bet that there are an equal amount of decisions that you made that had positive results. For some reason, it is hard to contemplate those. The term for this is negativity bias. For reasons unknown to me, it seems much easier to second guess and criticize. There is a place for this, and it can contribute to learning. It is important to be kind to yourself and credit yourself for your actions. In your end-of-the-year reflection, take some time to compliment yourself. What are five good decisions you made this year? Write them down.
