Delay
The airport ritual is the same. Nuts on Clark is the first stop after security. I get a cheese mix, a Carmel cheese mix for my wife, and spicy cheese for my son. I went off to the gate and prepared to wait for the flight. I grabbed a few sandwiches and bottles of water for everyone to eat on the plane. I sat down, and then the text message came. Your flight is delayed. A two-hour and forty-minute delay. So with the extra time, I ordered a pizza for my son, and I hit up the Billy Goat Tavern for one more Chicago Hotdog. Yes, we are going to be getting home later. But we are together. I am still off tomorrow. The delay is just extra time. I can be upset, or I can be thankful. Neither response will change the delay, but my attitude will determine how I spend it. I am thankful I have that choice available to me. In difficult times as much as possible, consider the choices that are available to you at any given moment, and hopefully, it will go well for you even when you are experiencing a delay
