Software updates

Software updates. Today my mac reminded me that it was time for a software update. It was kind enough to ask if I wanted to do it now or later this evening.

I clicked the button that said restart now and watched my screen go black, and then came back on with the Apple Logo in the middle of the screen. I watched a line run across the screen with a reminder of how long the update would take.

Watching the screen, I was curious and asked myself the following question. What is a human software update? Is it rest? Is it doing a leisure activity? Is it learning something new? Is time off considered a software update? On a computer, a software update introduces new features or fixes bugs. So I do believe that we can have software updates within ourselves. A time when we pause and fix bugs or prepare to introduce new features. How would you schedule a personal software update?
