How does your mind process? Do positive thoughts and emotions come first for you or do negative thoughts or emotions come first?

Generating negative thoughts and negative emotions is easy for me to do.

It isn't something I am proud of, nor do I rejoice in it. It just is what it is. That is the way I am in. I used to think that it was my fault or that I was doing something wrong. Nope. I just process that way.

I am aware of it. However, I don't wake up happy, excited, or thrilled at the prospects or opportunities in front of me every morning.

I grumble, complain, worry, and fret. But then, I have to work to engage these thoughts, sort the thoughts out, and move my mind's creations into places that will serve me and others.

I meditate, read scriptures, listen to music, journal, and write.

This helps me move away from the negative feelings, which are real feelings. Still, they are usually tied to past experiences or events that haven't happened and may never even occur.

These activities help me to see what is in front of me. Thoughts, feelings, what is true, what is real, what needs comfort, what needs discarding.

I do this in the morning. I have to. I have the time. I am awake. The time will pass, my family is asleep, my job isn't expecting me for a few hours, so the time is free.

I wish it were a one-time deal, A once size fits all. For example, I could say that I am finished with negative thoughts and negative emotions. You will never return!

Poof, just like that, they are gone. Just like at the end of Return of the Jedi was thought Emperor Palpatine was gone, right?

Nope, there he was, back in the Last Skywalker. Alive and well.

He was back, and he needed to be dealt with, or he would wreak havoc and destruction.

So it is with our negative thoughts and emotions. They appear daily, and daily we need to take care of them. How we do, it is up to us. The options are around friends, family, church communities, work, professionals in a therapy environment. Just pick one or two or three.

Rinse, Repeat, Do it again tomorrow, now the rest of the day, I am prepared to contribute and create.

How about you?
