Mindful Thought Buffet

A pleasant surprise makes you happy. An unexpected event upsets you. Which one do you attach to? I have a negativity bias; how it plays out is when my day is interrupted by an undesirable moment, it is more natural to fixate on it and generate anxious thoughts. On the other end, when a positive event happens, it is like a feather that floats away. I need to stop feeling bad about feeling bad. A negative bias can be controlled and changed. Imagine thoughts being like a buffet line. You are responsible for what you put on your plate and what stays off. Put the thoughts you desire on your plate and leave some off.
