The wrong date. I discovered that I have been writing the wrong date in my daily journal to keep track of the posts I write each day.
It is tempting to believe that a simple mistake is somehow linked to a root cause of an existing problem or a beginning symptom of a new one.
In reality. It is just a simple mistake. A clerical error. One that is fixed.
It also is a mistake that doesn’t appear on my blog site. Why?
My friend automation. The internal clock on my Squarespace page holds the correct time and date, showing the world the right date.
A webpage, A website, is a form of support. It aided me in overcoming my mistake.
Support is what you need when you make mistakes. Support from others, and a little less condemnation internally from yourself.
Support is available when you search for it, engage in it. You will find support. It also is important that you give support.
You give it to others. You show it to other people and in the end. You will find victories. Victory is found in cultivating a generous spirit.
Supporting others and finding the support you need.
Helping people is hard work; you get tired, exhausted, and sometimes discouraged.
You rest, and then you come back again. The alternative is worse. Deciding to not help, to step away, to draw into yourself. This leads to misery. Now I am not talking about taking time to rest or self-care. I am talking about a lifestyle dedicated to putting yourself first. Externally you may see great results, but what is going on internally?
Joy can be found in generosity. So can pain, hurt, and loss.
In the end, do it anyway. Choose to be generous. Be willing to work towards connecting with the opportunities you have each day to be generous.
