Travel Day
Travel day. Mixed emotions. The beginning of the vacation brings joy and relief. A bit of melancholy drifts into my mind at the end of my vacation. As I was driving to the airport, a thought came to my mind. I wondered if we are working to survive or working to serve. It made me thankful that I worked to survive at one level, but my occupation allowed me to serve others. I am thankful for paid vacation time. An income that allows me to travel to see friends and family and to be surrounded by people who love me. The income from my daily work allows me to pay our living expenses with enough left over to be generous towards others. Thoughts of gratitude can accompany the sadness that arrives at the end of vacation. I am grateful to return to service on Monday after the vacation. I hope that I am rested, recharged, and refreshed. What do you think about the end of your vacation?
