Embrace the unwanted

Doing what you don't want to do is a skill. Especially if it is an important activity. Several activities I engage in fall into the I don't want to do it category. For example. Getting out of bed at 4:50am Monday- Friday. I would much rather sleep in. Driving the freeway to work back and forth each day. Going to work. Some people would advise me to stop doing things that I don't like and pursue what feels good. ?If I followed the advice to do what feels good, I wouldn't have a job. I would not be able to pay my bills. Next, I need to search for new ways to meet my commitments. That is the dilemma when you allow your feelings to make your decisions. The feelings are often connected to avoiding one negative outcome. But what happens is that they are creating another. It may be time to lean into doing what we don't want to do to avoid outcomes we don't desire in the future.
