Pondering

We can often be irritated by situations and circumstances that don't go our way. However, at this season in my life, most of them are minor compared to what others are going through. I need to consider others and keep my thoughts and prayers directed toward other people's struggles and trials. I can look around and be thankful I have a home, warm meals, clothes, and companionship. I know that outside my home, five minutes down the street, people are sleeping in tents underneath the freeway in the cold pouring rain. I know that others are getting past the first holiday season without a loved one, and others have received bad news today or in the last week. Misfortune and tragedy have affected us, are currently affecting us, or will affect us in the future. Being considerate and mindful of those around us helps. Finding ways to lend a hand and support helps a bit more. The opportunities to show compassion and serve others are around us
